Diane runs the Day Center for the elderly at the Old School. This provides a meeting place for elderly people in need of companionship and also gives much needed relief to their carers. Along with a small team she organises transport, arranges entertainment and ensures that all the attendees receive a hot lunch.

In 2008 the parish council decided to create an award for 'villager of the year', an award that would presented to an individual as recognition for their good works within the Market Lavington community. The winner will receive a shield and their name will be engraved on a plaque which will be situated in the old school.

Each year between November & December a ballot box is placed in the post office for villagers to make their nominations. Please use this opportunity to highlight the good works or generosity of a villager that you know.
