Ted's Walks

Following many requests by local residents, the late Ted Maslen organised monthly walks around the Market Lavington, West Lavington and Easterton area for several years. Because of Ted's failing health other villagers took on the role of walk leaders. The walks started at 10:00am on Sunday mornings from the Market Place and they generally took about 2 hours to complete. These walks raised many hundreds of pounds for charity.

After Ted died other villagers continued the walk but due to the small numbers attending in a wet summer, they did not continue. A special walk was held on Sunday 29th May 2016 with Rev. James and Mary, starting at 10.15 at the Remember Stone beside St. Mary's Church, and finishing at The Green Dragon at about 12.15.

Ted Maslen was an ex-parish councilor and had lived in Market Lavington all of his life. Ted's local knowledge made him an ideal choice when it came to organizing local walks
