Barrel rolling & Tug of War 2010 This year's event drew people from far and wide including a team from the New Inn at Coate. The team that competed as 'Young, Fit & Able', were unfortunately unable to get beyond the first round, but we hope they will continue to come and compete next year. Both men's finals pitted the Green Dragon against the Royal Oak, with the Royal Oak becoming the winners in both competitions. The women's Tug-O-War was a close run thing with the women of the Royal Oak deserving the award for sportsmanship, as they allowed replacements of tired and strained members of the Green Dragon to take their places during the pull, which saw the Royal Oak women being dragged into the water. Thanks to Slater and Dave for the use of their tractors, the Sea Scouts for the rope & tables, Steve & Nicky Wragg for the beer and also everyone else that gave their time on the night, to make the evening a success. |
